Hasira De Silva is a Director in Fitch Ratings’ Asia Pacific Corporate Ratings team, and is based in Singapore. Hasira’s portfolio includes real estate development companies and Real Estate Investment Trusts, as well as names in metals & mining, manufacturing, building materials and other industrials, located across Singapore, Indonesia, India, Australia and Pakistan.
Hasira joined Fitch in Sri Lanka in 2006 as an analyst covering national ratings in corporates, financial institutions, structured finance, and mutual funds. Towards the end of his tenor in Sri Lanka, Hasira led Fitch’s domestic corporate ratings team. His portfolio included issuers in telecoms, ports and shipping, real estate development, manufacturing and retail, as well as diversified conglomerates. During this time he also took a lead role in assigning debut international ratings to several Sri Lankan banks and non-bank financial institutions.
Before moving to Singapore, Hasira was briefly attached to HSBC in Sri Lanka as a commercial banker with full P&L and credit responsibility for a portfolio of large domestic corporate clients.
Hasira has a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from University College London, U.K. He completed the Chartered Financial Analyst program in 2011, and is a member of the CFA Institute of Charlottesville, Virginia, USA.
